Hey! My name is Ashley and I’m a junior in the Mt. Pleasant homeschool group. In my Computer Science class we had to interview one of the moms. I chose to do Mrs. Rhonda. Mrs. Rhonda Q. What do you like about Co-op? Q. What can you tell me about this group? Q. When did you become a member of co-op? Q. What do you do at co-op? Q. How does it help you?
A. Since I’m a homeschool mom, I like to get together and interact with other moms. I love it that I can rely on someone who has better knowledge in a subject than I might have to come alongside me and provide not only their expertise, but their passion for the subject!
A. Co-op provides accountability! It helps both the parents and the students. It also creates an awesome socialization experience! New friends are made and relationships are strengthened throughout the year. Socialization was the one issue that was always questioned with friends, family, and public school teachers when they learned I was going to homeschool. Through these relationships we have found great support, encouragement, and guidance! The greatest thing about co-op is the fact that it is a healthy, Christian environment. Thankfully, co-op ends in April so that if we are struggling with grasping a concept we can review in May.
A. I started three years ago.
A. I teach 3 classes. Two of them are writing classes and the other one is Texas history. I personally, love the roundtable discussions that are held during my periods off.
A. It helps me several different ways. I love it that I can rely on someone who has better knowledge in a subject than I might have and to come alongside me and provide not only their expertise, but their passion for the subject! Sometimes my kids would listen to another teacher more than they would listen to me. It also helps prepare kids for college, by having them learn to have their work done and turned in on time. Also, I may not require my kids to do as much as someone else would.
